Kia ora koutou. Thank you for your warm welcome. It’s my pleasure to be here in Lawrence to present tonight’s New Zealand Century Farm and Station Awards.

Good morning, and thank you to the BNZ for hosting this pre-Budget speech.

It is a pleasure to be here at the traditional pre-Budget speech hosted by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, for my sixth time as Minister of Finance.

Thank you everyone for joining us here this evening, it is a real privilege to host and address you all.

It is incumbent on New Zealand to insert its foreign policy stance in a manner that aligns to the values and interests we believe will safeguard our sense of peace, stability, and inclusive economic prosperity.

I am confident I speak for us all when I say how pleased we are to be here to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Law Faculty of the University of Otago.

Today is an important day for Taranaki, and for all of its people – including this boy from New Plymouth.

Deputy Prime Minister Kamikamica; distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.

As Whānau Ora’s national Pacific commissioning agency, Pasifika Futures plays a vital role in connecting families to their aspirations, providing the tools and resources to achieve them.

It’s clear that we need to continue investing in the services that ensure our population receives the support it requires to live good and healthy lives.

Warm Pacific greetings to all. It is an honour to host the inaugural Conference of Pacific Education Ministers here in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Migrant communities across New Zealand are represented in the new Migrant Community Reference Group that will help shape immigration policy going forward, Immigration Minister Michael Wood announced today.
