Three experts have been appointed to an Independent Panel to examine the changes made to the family justice system in 2014 by the previous National Government, Justice Minister Andrew Little announced today.

Justice Minister Andrew Little has introduced a Bill to help Cantabrians resolve outstanding residential insurance claims from the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes.

“The Courts Matters Bill and the Tribunals Powers and Procedures Legislation Bill, which passed their second reading in Parliament today, bring more modern and effective courts and tribunals a step closer”, Associate Minister for Courts Aupito William Sio says.

The Government is launching a special insurance tribunal to resolve outstanding Earthquake Commission (EQC) and insurance claims, as well as launching a public inquiry into EQC, says Minister Responsible for the Earthquake Commission Megan Woods.
