The Coalition Government’s plan to enhance education and employment outcomes for rangatahi has been given a boost in Budget 2018, say Māori Development Minister Nanaia Mahuta and Employment Minister Willie Jackson.

“This year’s Budget delivers for Māori,” Māori Ministers Kelvin Davis, Nanaia Mahuta, Peeni Henare, Meka Whaitiri and Willie Jackson said today. 

The inaugural national commemoration of the New Zealand Wars has been held in the Bay of Islands, attended by Crown/Māori Relations Minister Kelvin Davis, Associate Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister Carmel Sepuloni and Associate Māori Development Minister Willie Jackson.

Associate Minister for Māori Development, Willie Jackson said it was an honour last night to present the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 Ngā Kupu Ora Māori Book and Journalism Awards to one of the Māori World’s wahine toa veteran broadcasting star, Wena Harawira.
