This strategy provides a sound policy framework to support a unifying vision for e-government across New Zealand government.

This speech includes thanks for all those who had an input into the first round of the consultation process in establishing the Australia New Zealand Therapeutic Products Authority. The Authority will regulate prescription medicines, complementary medicines, medical devices and over the counter medicines.

Benefits that the Australia New Zealand Therapeutic Products Authority will bring for consumers, the medical device industry and healthcare providers are discussed in this significant speech. An announcement is also made on the use of third party conformity assessors for medical devices.
