On International Day of Disabled Persons, NZ is awarded the prestigious 2007 Franklin Delano Roosevelt International Disability Award

Since "Pathways to Inclusion" was launched in 2001, there has been a continual improvement in the numbers participating in employment.

For seven decades this club has played an invaluable role in the lives of deaf people in Auckland, and I would like to pay tribute to all of its members that have made the club such a success.

The title "Seeking Community", describes the struggle for, and journey towards, inclusion in the wider community by disabled New Zealanders.

Research has shown that when human rights are central to the whole school, students show improved behaviour and an increased respect for the rights of all.

This year's conference marks the 60th jubilee of the Amputees Federation of New Zealand.
