I see you have invited the same keynote speakers to Christchurch as were invited to WasteMINZ in Auckland last year. Brian and I should be flattered that we have been given the opportunity of an encore. I notice that our order of speaking has been changed. Is this politeness due to the fact that Brian is such a hard act to follow?
* A year later and what’s changed? Well I have.

When I think of New Zealand, the image is of a green land of forests and fields, lakes and rivers, with snow capped mountains and a coastline of wild rocky shores, sheltered bays and harbours and sandy beaches. This has been a commonly held view of our land for a long time. It has been reflected to us by visitors from abroad and used in the promotion of our tourism industry and our products.
