Lesa, thank you for your kind invitation. I'm delighted to join you all for the annual meeting of Charities Services.

I would like to acknowledge members of the Independent Charities Registration Board here today; Roger Holmes Miller, Simon Karipa, and Caren Rangi. You have a challenging and important role, having to decide whether the law allows you to register – or sometimes deregister – charities. Thank you.

Welcome everyone, it is a pleasure to be here. This conference is a fantastic opportunity for us to gather together and generate great new ideas and launch new initiatives that will lead to stronger communities.

As a group, you already have a track record - the 2012 conference resulted in the One Fish Solutions; which is up and running helping organisations figure out where they are going, what they are doing, and how they can grow.

Thank you for inviting me back to open your conference this year.  I am pleased to be here with New Zealand’s most influential fundraisers and to speak to you as Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector.

Good afternoon everyone.  I am very pleased to be here for the culmination of Ākina Foundations first Launchpad accelerator programme.

There has been a lot of hard work for the six months leading up to this event. Congratulations to the Launchpad teams for their dedication - your projects are valuable contributions to real issues.
