Maniototo Area School in Ranfurly and Lawrence Area School will be redeveloped at a combined cost of around $11 million, says Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe.

The Government is committing more than $50 million to the full redevelopment of Whangarei Boys’ High School, in one of the largest-ever single investments in a New Zealand school.

Around $3 million will be invested to build six new classrooms at Te Kura Kaupapa o Ngā Uri a Māui in Gisborne, Education Minister Nikki Kaye and Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe announced today.

Around $6 million will be invested to build more new classrooms in the Tauranga area, say Education Minister Nikki Kaye and Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe.

Mr Macindoe visited Tauranga Boys’ College today to make the announcement.

Around $9 million will be invested to redevelop Mana College in Porirua, say Education Minister Nikki Kaye and Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe.

Donovan Primary in Invercargill will receive funding to build two new classrooms as part of a second tranche of roll growth funding, Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe has announced.

Invercargill MP Sarah Dowie represented Mr Macindoe at Donovan Primary today, welcoming the support for a school that has experienced continued roll growth since 2005.

Rototuna Primary School in Hamilton will receive three new classrooms that will cost around $1.5 million, Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe announced today.

Mr Macindoe visited Rototuna Primary School today to share the news with the school.

“Today’s announcement builds on the $2.5 million that I announced earlier this year for roll growth classrooms in the Waikato, as well as the $34.6 million invested through Budget 2016 for education infrastructure in the Waikato region.”

Around $18 million will be invested to build more new classrooms in Auckland, say Education Minister Nikki Kaye and Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe.

Ms Kaye made the announcement this afternoon during a visit to Torbay School.

“The focus of this investment is building additional classrooms to accommodate roll growth, but it includes some replacement classrooms to continue our ongoing modernisation of existing school infrastructure,” says Ms Kaye.

Associate Minister of Education Tim Macindoe today turned the first sod to mark the beginning of construction projects at both Wigram Primary and Addington Schools, as part of the Christchurch Schools Rebuild programme. 

Mr Macindoe attended two individual sod turning ceremonies at the respective schools this morning.

Associate Minister of Education Tim Macindoe today visited Wharenui School to celebrate the completion of their $2 million redevelopment and to announce that Budget 2017 will provide the school with an additional $1.5 million of funding for three new classrooms.

Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe has today celebrated the first sod being turned for the relocation and rebuild of Avonside Girls’ and Shirley Boys’ High Schools at their new co-located site at QEII park in Christchurch. 

Mr Macindoe attended a sod turning ceremony at the new site earlier today to mark this significant milestone.

Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe has today welcomed the commencement of the $26 million redevelopment of Hornby High School and the completion of a $3.5 million project at Hornby Primary School.

Mr Macindoe visited both schools today respectively to turn the first sod and plant a tree to mark the completion.

“The $26 million redevelopment of Hornby High School is a significant undertaking with 90 per cent of the existing school buildings being demolished and replaced with modern facilities,” says Mr Macindoe.

Around $12 million will be invested to redevelop Wainuiomata High School, Education Minister Nikki Kaye and Associate Minister of Education Tim Macindoe announced today.

“This investment recognises that Wainuiomata High School’s buildings are ageing with many of them in poor condition and affected by issues such as weathertightness,” says Ms Kaye. 

“In 2015 a Limited Statutory Manager was appointed to assist the Board and school with their day-to-day functions and to help raise student achievement.

Both Berhampore School and Maungaraki School in Wellington will receive funding to build new classrooms as part of Budget 2017, Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe announced today.

Mr Macindoe visited Maungaraki School today to share the news with the school.

The funding of $1 million will provide both schools with one new classroom each.

“This investment will enable the schools to accommodate recent roll growth and reinforces our commitment to invest in areas of growth across the country,” says Mr Macindoe.

Around $5.5 million will be invested under Budget 2017 to provide more new classrooms for schools in Northland, Education Minister Nikki Kaye and Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe announced today.

Minister Macindoe visited Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Kaikohe today to make the announcement.

“This first round of school infrastructure investment under Budget 2017 will provide a total of eleven new classrooms at three schools and kura in the region,” says Ms Kaye.

Budget 2017 has already provided for around $30 million to increase capacity in Bay of Plenty and today Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe announced a further $3 million will be invested in schools in the region.

Around $21 million will be invested for more roll growth classrooms in Auckland as part of Budget 2017, say Education Minister Nikki Kaye and Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe.

Ms Kaye made the announcement during a visit to Rowandale School in Manurewa this afternoon.

“This first round of investments in roll growth classrooms under Budget 2017 will provide a total of 41 new classrooms at eight schools across Auckland,” says Ms Kaye.

Associate Minister of Education Tim Macindoe has today announced that around $5 million will be invested in Budget 2017 to expand the capacity of schools in the Nelson and Marlborough area.

Associate Education Minister Tim Macindoe is today, on World Refugee Day, welcoming the opening of new education facilities at the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre in Auckland.
