SECURITIES COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS

The Minister of Commerce, the Hon John Luxton, announced two re-appointments to the Securities Commission today. Mr Tony Frankham and Miss Judith Potter, both of Auckland, have been re-appointed to the Commission for periods of five and two years respectively.

Mr Frankham is a Chartered Accountant in his own accounting and consulting practice. Prior to that he was a Partner at Deloitte Ross Tohmatsu. He is a Director of various publicly listed companies and has had a high degree of involvement in the New Zealand Society of Accountants.

Judith Potter is a lawyer whose specialist areas of work are corporate law, securities law, superannuation and life insurance and the forestry industry.

She has had a high involvement in the New Zealand Law Society, including holding the position of President from 1991 to 1994. Miss Potter is currently Chair of the Broadcasting Standards Authority, Director of Electricity Corporation of New Zealand and Director of the New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Limited.
