McKinnon Announces New Appointments to the Board of ASIA 2000

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Don McKinnon today announced the appointment of four new members to the Executive Board of the Asia 2000 Foundation. These are:

Mr Murray Horn, Managing Director, ANZ Banking Group (NZ) Ltd

Mrs Glenys Coughlan, Chief Executive, Tourism Industry Association NZ

Mr Anand Satyanand, Ombudsman

Rt Hon Mike Moore, Labour ?s Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Trade

The ASIA 2000 Foundation was established in June 1994 as a cooperative venture involving the New Zealand Government, government agencies, the business sector and educational interests to give focus to the ASIA 2000 strategy launched by the government in 1991. It is chaired by Hon Philip Burdon.

The Foundation promotes knowledge and skills among New Zealanders in their dealings with Asia. It also fosters networks with people and organizations in Asia to help them understand the New Zealand environment. It has an active research and public relations programme designed to disseminate information on New Zealand?s relationship with Asian countries.
