LUXTON TO VISIT CANBERRA

Minister of Commerce and 5th ranked Cabinet Minister, Hon John Luxton is to visit Canberra this week.

The Minister will sign the revised Trans-Tasman Joint Accreditation System Agreement (JAS-ANZ '98) between the two countries and attend the Australian Procurement and Construction Ministerial Council Meeting (APCC).

Mr Luxton will also meet with senior Australian politicians including; Hon Peter Costello, Federal Treasurer; Hon John Moore, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology; Hon John Fahey, Minister for Finance and Administration; Senator the Hon Warwick Parer, Minister for Resources and Energy; the Assistant Treasurer, Senator the Hon Rod Kemp, Hon Andrew Thomson, Minister for Sport and Tourism, and Mr Paul Coghlan, Assistant Commissioner and Head of the Office of Regulation Review, Industry Commission, Nature Conservation House.

The Minister will be discussing a range of issues of interest to both countries. Mr Luxton leaves on Tuesday 24 March and returns late Thursday 26 March.
