Independent Panel: Retirement Savings Voter Education

The Minister of Justice, Hon D.A.M. Graham, today announced members of the four-person independent panel responsible for the official voter education campaign for the retirement savings referendum.

The panel will be chaired by Sir John Robertson, a former Chief Ombudsman, Secretary of Defence and Secretary of Justice.

Mr Graham said he was extremely pleased that Sir John had agreed to Chair the panel.

'As a former chairman of the independent ministerial panels for the 1992 and 1993 referenda on electoral reform, Sir John has extensive experience conducting public educational campaigns,' Mr Graham said.

The three members of the panel are: Vivien Bridgewater, Leith Comer and Jennifer Gibbs.

Vivien Bridgewater is a former General Manager of The Radio Bureau and she has extensive experience in radio.

Leith Comer is Chairman of Lakeland Health Ltd and a partner in Fraser Consultancy.

Jennifer Gibbs is a member of the Board of the Museum of New Zealand, a trustee of the Auckland University Foundation and a member of the Auckland Medical School Foundation.
