The Minister of Communications, the Hon Maurice Williamson, today announced the appointment of former Radio Network Chief Executive, Joan Withers, as a member of the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
Freelance journalist Lyndsay Loates has also been reappointed to the Authority for a second term.
The Broadcasting Standards Authority encourages the development of Codes of Practice amongst broadcasters and
adjudicates on complaints relating to broadcasting standards issues.
"Ms Withers brings to the Broadcasting Standards Authority extensive experience in the radio broadcasting industry.
"Ms Loates has made a valuable contribution to the Authority during her three year term. Her reappointment will allow her to make an ongoing contribution and provides for continuity of experience on the Authority" said the Minister.
