British Cabinet Minister to Visit New ZealandState Services
The first Cabinet Minister from the new British Government will visit New Zealand next month, Minister of State Services, Paul East, announced today.
The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, the Rt Hon Dr David Clark will visit from 5 to 8 October 1997. His principal portfolio responsibilities are as Minister for the Public Service. The main reason for visiting New Zealand is to discuss the working of our Official Information Act. Dr Clark is also interested in New Zealand's public sector reforms.
Mr East said he was looking forward to meeting the Chancellor and hearing his plans for achieving government reform in the United Kingdom.
The Ministers will meet in Wellington on Monday 6 October at 4:30pm.
