It gives me great pleasure to welcome Cameron Air and Seafreight into the Customs Frontline programme.

Cameron’s is the 12th partner to join this initiative, and the first South Island based freight forwarding company to join NZ Customs as a FrontLine partner in Enforcement.

Over the past 25 years, Ron Cameron’s hard work and integrity has resulted in a reputation for excellence in this very competitive industry.

Cameron’s has built enduring relationships with many notable Canterbury businesses including Tait Electronics.

These relationships are testament to the business community’s high regard for Ron and his team.

NZ Customs shares that regard.

Cameron’s commitment to creating successful partnerships within the business community mirrors the whole of government approach embraced by the Coalition Government.

It’s not enough to hope that “somebody will do something” to keep drugs and contraband out of New Zealand.

It takes the combined involvement of businesses, individuals, Government and the community to protect our borders.

This same level of partnership is restoring balance and generating prosperity throughout the regions of New Zealand.

I congratulate Cameron’s for their dedication to excellence and their commitment to partnership.

I’d also like to congratulate Andrew Thorne** and Lauren Burrows for helping to bring Cameron’s into the FrontLine programme.

Together we will continue to build on this mutual goodwill and take this co-operation to a new level of understanding and communication.

**Andrew Thorne is the FrontLine co-ordinator for Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland. In Christchurch he is supported by Lauren Burrows. He and Lauren have established contacts with businesses on the West Coast and in Timaru.
